Lugh– The great shining one . One of the Great Irish Kings of the Tuatha de Danann. He’s Known as a powerful deity Of the Sun and light (technically there is no “Sun God” in the Irish pantheon, but I somehow associate him with the sun .) Patron of all arts and crafts literally perfection in all that he does. He’s also a Master of Warfare and druid magic. Lugh has control over the weather such as Lightening and wind, illumination , protection, healing, miracles, harvest, and is even a patron of animals. His sacred month is in August and his festival is called Lughnasa or Lughnasadh.
His weapon of choice is a Spear called Gae Assail – The Spear of Assal one of the four treasures of the Tuatha De Danann.
Don’t be afraid to ask of him on any subject he’s a versatile god.
Lugh has many names: Samildánach, Lugh Lámhfada Lugaid , Lugaidh , Lonnansclech, Luga, Lámfada. Including counterparts in Wales – Lleu Llaw Gyffes and in Gaul – Lugos, Lugus, Mercury
